o   In Jere LGA, Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme (BSFP) will target 2,504 & 1,500 under 2 years children at the Farm Center Camp and El-Miskin Center Camps respectively. Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme (BSFP) for the Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW) activities will target 900 & 810 PLWs in Farm Center and El-Miskin Center Camps respectively. These activities are planned for a period of 12 months (Jan-Dec 2021)



PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Goal: To save lives and stabilize the food security situation for the food insecure populations, through emergency food assistance using both in-kind and cash-based transfers modalities.
Objective: Enhance the food security of vulnerable populations through General Food Distribution (GFD), Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programs (BSFP), and Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC).

specific objectives:

1.       Meet the immediate food security needs of IDPs and vulnerable host communities where applicable in Jere LGA.

2.       Prevent cases of malnutrition through a Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme (BSFP) for children under the age of 2 years and Pregnant and Lactating Women.

3.       Improving the affected communities’ awareness on food hygiene and IYCF through the Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) activities.

4.       Increasing the access and effectiveness of data gathering related to complaints, participation of beneficiaries and other related services that will guide programmatic decisions



To address the food insecurity situation in Jere LGA of Borno state, SHO will hope to work with WFP to provide project management support in the next twelve (12) months from Jan-Dec 2021. SALIENT HUMANITARIAN ORGANIZATION will ensure it complies with WFP’s SGD mandate of ZERO HUNGER during the implementation of this project.
 

Modalities of assistance

SHO will deliver BSFP (Children and PLW) to Individual households and shall ensure they receive 30 days ration per month in Jere LGA. BSFP distributions will take place separately in order to ensure protection of beneficiaries and reduce the risks related to displacement. Children between 6-23 months would be given supercereal plus/CSB++ 200/p/d and 6kg per month while PLW would be given 250g/p/d and 7.5kg per month of supercereal/CSb+ and 25g/p/d pf vegetable oil or 0.750g per month. Every registered beneficiary will be provided a ration card. SHO, WFP and the beneficiary communities will agree on distribution dates, locations and other modalities. Prior to each distribution
